Two people.
One disagreement.
The Opposite Chair is a debate series. Every episode, two people who see a question differently sit across from each other and argue it out, properly. Nobody is too famous, and nobody is too ordinary, for the chair. You get to see how the other side actually thinks.
Any two people. Any question.
A matchup can be two of the most powerful people in an industry, or two people you'd walk past on the street. What matters is that they disagree, and that the question is real.
Should anyone be allowed to build this at all?
Which city is actually safer for the people who live in it?
Does the Indian startup ecosystem reward the right people?
Is a degree still worth four years of your life?
Should housework be paid?
These are the kinds of pairings we're building the first season around. If you have one in mind, or you belong in one, tell us.
How an episode runs
One question both guests agreed to in advance. A host who keeps it honest, not a moderator who picks a side.
The question
Sharp, specific, and agreed on before cameras roll. No topic drift, no gotchas.
Opening chairs
Each guest makes their case uninterrupted before anyone responds.
The exchange
Direct back-and-forth. Interruptions allowed, evasions called out, claims sourced.
The swap
Each guest argues the other chair's position as well as they can. The audience decides who understood.
The chair is open to everyone.
We don't book by follower count. We book by whether you have a position worth defending and the nerve to defend it in front of someone who disagrees.
- Public figures, founders, authors, athletes, policymakers
- People with firsthand experience the public conversation keeps getting wrong
- Experts, sceptics, practitioners, and the people they talk about

Senior Associate, CEO's Office at Safe Security. Built the CISO Confidential podcast and the FAIR India Chapter.
Vaishnavi spent the last three years inside the CEO's Office at Safe Security, a cybersecurity company, working on the problems where ownership was undefined and no playbook existed: a $70M Series C, two acquisitions, board strategy and go-to-market.
Along the way she built CISO Confidential, a podcast that put 20 security leaders on the record, and started the FAIR India Chapter from zero. The Opposite Chair comes from the same instinct: get two people who disagree into the room, ask the hard question, and let the audience watch them think.
